Our story
A request that opened a new chapter
What began with one family's request now reaches children and adults across countries.
We were teaching the Quran long before we taught it online. Our roots in Quran and Islamic education go back to 2003, when students came to learn with us in person. Our founder and CEO, Ustadh Maulana Muhammad Ilyas, has carried that work forward with our teaching team.
In 2019, a new Muslim living in the United States sent Maulana Ilyas a message. He had been learning about Islam and how to read the Quran through visits to a mosque and resources he found online. He wanted his children to learn the Quran with proper guidance. Maulana Ilyas agreed to help, and that request became the beginning of our online classes.
Since then, more than 30 families have joined us, with students from the United States, the UK, Canada and Australia. Children learn to read the Quran with us, and adults join at different stages of life. Our teachers also come from different countries. They are qualified, verified and experienced in teaching online.
This work involves more than the teacher a student meets in class. We have a wider team involved in education and in supporting students and parents. Together, we hope to bring Quran education into more homes and help more children grow up knowing how to read it.

Founder & CEO
He leads the academy's Quran and Islamic education work, whose in-person roots go back to 2003. In 2019, a request from a parent in the United States prompted him to begin online Quran classes.

A Hafiz of the Quran, Aalim and Mufti, he also serves as an Imam and Khateeb. He brings extensive teaching and scholarly experience to guiding the academy's Quran and Islamic education.

A Hafiz of the Quran and one of our best Tajweed Qaris, he helps new families settle into Quran classes. He assesses each new student's starting level and conducts monthly and stage tests, while supporting students and parents throughout their learning.

She leads Quran learning for women and girls, working closely with our female Quran teachers to guide lessons around each student’s level and learning needs. Her focus is on clear Quran reading, careful Tajweed instruction and steady progress, helping students feel comfortable asking questions as they learn online.

She supports women, girls and parents throughout their online Quran learning journey. Working with families and female Quran teachers, she helps address learning difficulties, follows up on concerns and keeps communication clear. Her focus is on helping students feel heard, encouraged and supported as they build confidence in their Quran classes.
